Deadset Decks Melbourne ABN 86 630 342 983 operates as an introduction service. We connect Melbourne homeowners with deck builders from our roster. We are not a builder, contractor, or project manager. We do not perform building work or supervise building projects.
Limits of Verification
Before adding a builder to our roster, we conduct the following checks:
- •Personal interview
- •Portfolio review
- •Reference calls
- •Verification of VBA registration or Certificate III in Carpentry at time of onboarding
Important limitations:
- •These checks are conducted at the time a builder joins our roster
- •We do not continuously monitor registrations, insurance, or compliance
- •Registrations and insurance can lapse or be cancelled after our initial check
- •We do not verify the accuracy of information provided by builders on an ongoing basis
Builder Responsibilities
The builder you are matched with is solely responsible for:
- •Maintaining current VBA registration (where required)
- •Holding appropriate domestic building insurance
- •Holding public liability insurance
- •Obtaining necessary building and planning permits
- •Complying with the Building Code of Australia and Victorian building regulations
- •Quality of workmanship and materials
- •Meeting contractual obligations with you
- •Providing warranties as required by law
Your Responsibilities
Before signing a contract with a builder, you should:
- •Verify the builder's current VBA registration at vba.vic.gov.au
- •Request proof of current insurance
- •Obtain a written quote and contract
- •Understand permit requirements for your project
- •Review warranty terms
No Liability for Builder Performance
Deadset Decks Melbourne is not liable for the quality, timeliness, or completion of any building work performed by builders on our roster. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your dealings with a builder. Your contract is with the builder, not with us.
